The Shadow 99 Pro is RAYZON's 99-style pad: a woven cloth surface tuned to sit neutral with a slight grain, which is what gives a control pad its stopping power without the muddy feel of a rough weave. RAYZON matches the cloth to the reference pad at the fibre level - the loops in its weave measure 495 um against the reference pad's 490 um - so the glide and the stop are the same shape. Under the cloth is a Slimflex rubber base from the Japanese maker Inoue, laminated to the weave by hand rather than in a press, and the stitched edge is recessed: the thread sits below the surface, so nothing rubs your wrist and the edge cannot lift or fray. At 490 x 420 mm it covers a low-sensitivity arm sweep.
