The UM650 is a desk microphone that needs no interface and no drivers: it connects as a standard USB audio device on Windows, macOS and Linux. Its cardioid capsule is sensitive to what is in front of it and rejects sound arriving from behind, which is what keeps room noise and keyboard clatter out of the recording. Audio is converted at up to 48 kHz / 16-bit. The supplied tripod stand has a vibration-damping mount and the pop filter breaks up plosive bursts, so the whole recording chain is in the box.
